Houston Montrose DWI Trap

I travel through the Montrose area on a daily basis so I can honestly say that it is one of the most dangerous streets to drive in Houston.  Westheimer Road between Shepherd and Montrose Boulevard is especially dangerous because it is such a narrow street.  It barely allows two cars on each side of the road to safely travel the road at the same time.  Additionally, the road curves for several miles where cars go in and out of their lanes routinely.  It is no wonder that there are accidents so often on that street.  I have personally witnessed accidents on that stretch of road while enjoying a coffee at one of the local cafes nearby.

Not surprisingly, I am continuously being hired by people that are charged with drunk driving after being stopped in the Montrose area.  There is a bar or restaurant on every block from lower Westheimer to the Dunlavy intersection.  These establishments are both high end and casual, but the police dept does not discriminate when they pull someone over for drifting out of one the narrow lanes or getting into an unavoidable accident.  I anticipate that more bars and restaurants will be moving into the area in the foreseeable future.  I would guess that in the next three years this area will take over the Washington Avenue bar scene.
